According to an article written in 2011 on the Johannesburg municipal website (Hillbrow Health Precinct is born (2011)) the renovation of the Johannesburg Hillbrow Hospital was supposed to be completed in 2015.
It is now 2017 and stands like a bomb site.  The buildings are falling down, the rubbish lies all over the yard, with rats running all around.  The once beautiful gardens are overgrown with weeds.  Here are some photos I took in March 2017.
According to the website the revamp would cost R28 million.  I wonder what has happened to that money.
